“Live at OB’s” has arrived and looks good!

Blarney’s first CD, entitled, “Live at OB’s” has arrived. Those who ordered a copy at the live recording in May have their copies in the mail, or personal delivery by Keith Shannon. If you don’t receive it within two weeks, please call Bob at 530-386-1062 or email at Blarneyband@hughes.net.

The CDs are available by mailing $15 to Blarney c/o Bob Nehls at 756 Varsity Road, Kalama, WA 98625. They will also be available at all Blarney performances. Also, you can purchase one direct from Truckee Book & Bean at 10009 West River Road in Truckee or from Molly’s Cupboard at 10122 Donner Pass Road in downtown Truckee, CA.

CD release event will be at OB’s Pub and Restaurant in downtown historic Truckee, CA on Friday December 8. Blarney will play from 7 to 10pm and CDs will be available throughout the evening. They make excellent Christmas gifts.

We plan to set up other ways to obtain the new Blarney CDs in the future. Thanks to all our friends and fans for supporting this new adventure for Blarney.

Blarney’s Live at OB’s CD in Production

The “Live at OB’s CD” went into production today in Virginia and we are hopeful that it should arrive in California just after the new moon around November 21. The CD’s will be available at Blarney gigs, and through the mail for $15. You can write us at PO Box 13996, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96151 and we will mail your copy asap. We do plan on making it available through other means in the near future, once the CDs arrive. For those that purchased advanced copies at the live recording session, they will be in the mail as soon as they arrive. Thanks for being understanding , it has taken a long time to get it done–but, it is now done!

Blarney “Live at OB’s” CD on Order

Finally, the “Live at OB’s” CD is on order and we are hopeful that it will arrive around the first part of December. We are sorry for the long delay, but hopefully it will be worth the wait. We are excited about this first CD project for Blarney.

November is a pretty full schedule for us and we look forward to seeing many of you soon.

Wedding Congratulations

Blarney guys send along congratulations to a really great young couple, Bridget and Mark, who were married in Ireland in August and who are residing at Lake Tahoe. We were so fortunate to play music for their celebration party on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe last Saturday night. We really enjoyed being at the celebration party and all the singing along and great dancing. The highlight of the party was a special dance by Bridget and Mark–wow, you two can dance!

Thanks again for inviting us and our wishes for many happy, healthy years together.

Blarney CD Update

Thanks again to all who joined us at the Live at OB’s recording session on May 27, 2006. The learning curve has been steep, but we are slowly making progress toward the CD release. Dick Howell, owner of OB’s, has offered to allow us to use OB’s for a CD release party which will be announced on our schedule and the blog. Probably will happen in late October we hope. We have selected the 14 songs to be included and Kevin is finalizing the mix and master process. The CD will be duplicated at Oasis in Virginia.

Hope to see all of you at one of our many September gigs.

Pembrooke Ren Faire

Blarney really enjoyed playing at the Pembrooke Faire in Carson City, Nevada this past weekend, May 20-21. The Faire was the best ever with good crowds and lots of entertainment. Natasha and Sean Kiernan, we congratulate you and your hard working staff for putting on such a fine community event. Thanks again for including us. We thank all of you who listened to our music and encouraged us to play more. The weather looked a little scary Sunday afternoon late, but Carson City seems to have the weather gods on their side. Our thanks to Mother Goose who performed twice on stage with us with the Unicorn Song and Danny Boy, she is great and the kids love her. Also appreciated the hospitality of all the great Privateers of the Dauntless, another fun group. We enjoyed meeting lots of new people and seeing some old Faire friends like Tom and Mary Kay and playing music with them. We saw some cool juggling, dancing, and magic along with so many wonderful renaissance costumes. Thanks to all and we hope to see you next time. Blarney was lucky enough to trade songs with a truly good Madrigal group from Reno on Saturday and this kind of spontaneous performance is one of the things that makes this Faire so much fun for all.

Blarney to do Live CD, Join Us

Blarney is finally going to record a live CD at OB’s Pub and Restaurant in downtown Historic Truckee, California on Saturday evening, May 27. All friends, family, fans, and anyone who happens to be at OB’s that night are invited to come to the upstairs room between 7pm and 9pm to be part of the recording. There is no charge, but of course, drinks and food will be on your tab. We appreciate OB’s giving us the room for the evening and look forward to playing for all of you. Kevin from Sweet Spot Sounds from Grass Valley will be capturing all the good sounds and Keith, Bob, and Dan will be doing their best to make this an entertaining evening that will be worth listenning to over and over on the CD.

Contact Information Changing

Contact information for Blarney will be changing and the web site will be adjusted hopefully soon. The phone number 530-432-8686 is no longer in service and the new number is at South Lake Tahoe and is 530-577-7104. Bob has moved to Lake Tahoe. Email for Blarneyband will be changed to blarneyband@hughes.net starting April 23, 2006 and the direcway address will be forwarded until August to the new email. The other phone contact and email will remain the same as Keith is still in Truckee.
